Gurumukh says, "If you sweat and laugh everyday, you will be happy, healthy and whole".
This is certainly true for me! When resentment, fatigue, irritation, tension, stress, stagnation, boredom or a general malaise and lack-luster for life creep into my day, I take inventory. I ask myself if I moved to the point of sweating and found enough joy to have a jolly laugh. If the answer is 'not today', I know that I forgot to look after myself and make amends as soon as possible.
My favourite way to sweat is dancing. My hormones balance and I feel good. My mind settles and my spirit expands. Everything about me hums health, happiness and wholeness.
I have danced outside at the beach, in the forest, on a dirt road. Hotel rooms, barns and bathrooms have hosted my dancing needs. I have even danced in the hospital while I waited for my son to return from surgery.
Laughter can be elusive. It's like trying to cry. Sometimes, it just can't be conjured up. However, if I have danced, I get back into the flow of my emotions, and I find that the laughter is not so far off.
I don't know who said it, but I have to agree: "Sweat is a Dancer's holy water."
Ms Wild is on a mission; to get every woman to enjoy the natural dance of their bodies.
